Sri S. Suresh Kumar, IAS, is a 2000 batch officer of the Andhra Pradesh cadre. He is currently serving as the Principal Secretary to Government, Municipal Administration & Urban Development Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh.

He has served in various important roles in both the State Government and the Government of India. His experience spans across key departments such as:

• Infrastructure & Investment – Served as Secretary, Infrastructure and Investment department and was involved in planning and implementation of major infrastructure and investment projects in the state.
• Skill Development & Training – As Secretary, Skill Development, led efforts to upgrade skill training and create better employment opportunities for youth.
• Education – As Commissioner of School Education, he worked on strengthening school systems and improving learning outcomes.
• Commerce & Industry –  As Additional CEO, Government e-Marketplace (GeM), played a key role in the creation of Government e-Marketplace (GeM), The biggest online procurement platform for government brought greater transparency and efficiency in public procurement. As Joint secretary In Department of Commerce, Government of India, handled trade negotiations with several countries and export promotion of major commodities.
• Urban Development and Housing – Has spent a significant part of his career in this sector, focusing on improving urban infrastructure, planning, housing, and municipal services.

Educational Background:

Sri Suresh Kumar holds a Master’s degree in Forestry from Keral agricultural University  and a Master’s in International Development Policy from Duke University, USA.

He continues to contribute to the development of the State through focused governance, effective policy implementation, and commitment to public service.
